Sevendust’s Clint Lowery Is Taking A Break From The Road
Sevendust Has Arrived!
My favorite thing to hear as I enter a Sevendust show.
Sevendust is hands down one of rock’s greatest bands- I remember my first time seeing them at a massive show the “Rolling Rock Town Fair” in PA in 2004 (before that I saw them in smaller venues) and could not believe their power over the ginormous crowd.
With the bands strong footprint in the New Jersey area, where they recorded quite a bit, I’ve been a fan forever. I fought HARD to get them on the bill for one of my radio stations signature arena shows too, and it was worth the fight! (TC for the win!)
Aside from being one of the greatest bands in current based rock, they are also one of the nicest.
The band is heading out for dates in Europe with Alter Bridge and Daughtry and absent from this run will be their guitarist – Clint Lowery. Clint took to social media via video to announce to the fans-
“Unfortunately, I’m not gonna be able to make the front half of this tour for a couple reasons. First off, family commitments. I made a promise to my kids years ago I would not be gone a certain amount of time anymore. I’ve done some long stretches in my career, and I have to honor that promise and make sure that I’m present for them as well. Secondly, I had a couple of health issues last year. I have a couple of tests coming up just to confirm everything’s cool there before I join the band. Tim Tournier, our manager, my dear brother, one of my best friends, is gonna be filling in on guitar for me over there on the shows that I’m gonna miss. Please support him. He’s been great. He helped fill in on the ‘Seasons‘ tour that I missed some of the dates on.”
About Tim……who is filling in……
Tim Tournier not only manages Sevendust (and a slew of other great bands) but he is a killer musician and I consider Tim a friend of mine, so it’s not surprising that he would jump in and do “extra” duty. Behind the scenes he’s the hardest working man in the rock biz! For my Jersey friends he played bass with Myles recently at the Wellmont Theater and was magnificent.
