Ann is the GOAT. Plain and simple. Half of the legendary duo HEART that changed the game, redefined the landscape and made their own rules. As a young girl, I wanted to be Ann. She ruled my world. Her vocals, songwriting, beauty. My god, she’s magnificent.
I have been truly blessed in my radio career to have interviewed Ann, Nancy AND Ann and Nancy together in front of a live audience at the Google building in New York City which was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Professional OR personal.
Why always struck me about Heart was their strength. You can feel how strong they are not just as artists but as individuals. Back in the day, every guy was hitting on them, every person trying to boss them, rude them……nope. they found their voices and were having NONE of that crap. The ups, the downs, and everything in between, the originators of the female fronted rock band. The one and only HEART.
I caught up with Ann during her solo run with her band “TRIPSITTER” and she gave me some tea.
