Remembering Neil Peart
Neil Peart- September 12, 1952- January 7, 2020
The band Rush Is Such A Big Part Of My Life- TC here and it’s hard to believe six years have passed since we lost Neil to brain cancer. Impossible to believe actually. If you know me, you know how deep my Rush fandom goes. Hearing “Spirit Of Radio” changed the course of my life and was the inspiration for my extensive radio career. There is not a day that goes by that the band is not present for me.
My first Rush show? Junior High, Meadowlands Area, (then Brendan Byrne) Moving Pictures Tour.
Mind Blowing. As a drummer , no one compares- As a lyricist Neil was a complex, personal poet with a running theme of individualism and literary flow.
I was thrilled to welcome my friends Gerry and Steve from the SFN RUSHCAST Fancast Podcast to my Carr Stereo Podcast for some “Rush Speak” – check out the video of our hang- and follow them on instagram – https://www.instagram.com/therushcast/
I’m excited Geddy and Alex are coming back. Here are a few of my favorite “Neil’s”…….
